The usual setting for still-life product photography that we usually see inside our favorite glossies consists of a controlled environment that lets the product speaks for itself. That does not apply to German-based photographer Mat Hennek. Through his work, Mat Hennek has taken account of nature to be the perfect setting for the beauty of photography – and this is exactly what he has done to celebrate the 190^th anniversary of the Rieussec Chronograph. Unifying nature with our own analogous technology, the timepiece, is the main visual attraction for Mont Blanc’s at the SIHH Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie set in beautiful Geneva this January. This ‘mise en scene’ of Hennek’s photography that was taken in the Swiss Alps, turned out to be a challenge for the photographer who comes fr om Germany. He said “I wanted to show time flowing in landscape with crumbling rocks, flowing waters, petrified wood, moss and soil”. Thus, he created Mont Blanc watches, artistically dipped them in earthy colors and printed their beautiful faces on large scale plates create unique photographs with the watches being part of the landscape above all the changing light. One of the way is with Confashion! – a momentous event held by IPMI or the Indonesian Fashion Designer Council, holds the nation’s tradition to carry an exhibition to celebrate this fashionable journey. As the tagline describes: ‘Wrinkles Both on Your Face and Your Clothes Don’t Really Hurt’, this shows how tremendously hard the scramble that designers faced in IPMI over the past 25 years to yield of our culture. “As we know, all this time domestic brands still defeated by the use of prestige foreign brands that can make Indonesian feels proud to use it”, appropriately said by Mrs. Martha Tilaar herself as the head of Martha Tilaar. Starts fr om this desire, Martha Tilaar together with IPMI combine fashion and beauty into one, with the same goal of preserving the indigenous culture of Indonesia.

Designed by designer Didi Budiharjo, Confashion was inagurated on Thursday, 13^th January 2011 in Senayan City, Confashion represent a small museum which illustrates a series of manufacturing process starting fr om a new form of sketches, to patterns, fabric selection, until the selection of models, all exhibited in the show which arranged artistically. Divided into 3 phases, the first is The Office taking the first steps towards how an idea was conceived to be designed in-to a new trend without forgetting the element of the culture. Continued with, The Workshop – a stage that tells how the process of designing to be done into an outfit creation start fr om cultivate an existing sketch on select fabric that matches, measurement, up to give direction to workers. The last route is The Runway as the final process of introducing the latest design collection to create understanding and awareness to the community.

The distinctiveness of this event is where the goods are exhibited not only in the form of designer clothes, but how also IPMI notes depicted in the liaison between technology, beauty, and fashion in a very thick unity seen in the show that display more than 20 designers artifacts represent the fashion council’s excursion that belongs to Denny Wirawan, Barli Asmara, Thomas Sigar, Adesagi Kierana, and many others.
