It is said that making macaroons is not a recipe for those who are untrained. But for Cecilia Yuda and Lisa Daryono of the Indonesian fashion duet Benten, making macaroons is a piece of cake. For their showcase at the stage of Hong Kong Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2011 on the 6th of July 2010, Benten presented Lady Macaroon, the sweetest addition to the season to date. Twenty five dresses that are unquestionable in terms of femininity were paraded in a collective style that can only be called as scrumptious. Light chiffon were added to remind us to a soufflé, draperies after draperies brought us straight to the thought of icing on a cake, cloque and pleats are like soft puff pastries that can fill in your gastronomic desires. Lady Macaroon was presented to become a visual satisfaction for those with a sweet tooth because the collection consisted of colors that you can find plucked out of a French chocolatier or a pastry shop. Pastels, grey, soft turquoise, cream colored dresses add to the sweetness of detail precision that are instilled in all of the technique of the collection. Ladylike dresses were the main point of this collection, for Benten are somewhat of an expert in this style so there is no point of arguing of what they can do best. It is a collection worth tasting for. [Images courtesy of BENTEN]
